- Preserve and promote the Arabic language—the language of the Holy Qur’an.
- Prepare qualified national cadres for careers in the public and private sectors, including teaching, consulting, and administrative roles.
- Graduate distinguished students capable of pursuing postgraduate studies and contributing to research development and community service.
- Advance scientific research and align it with human and developmental needs in the Kingdom.
- Serve the community and support lifelong learning through training programs, consultations, and academic events.
The study plan also aims to enable faculty members to:
- Continuously develop themselves rather than relying solely on abridged texts used from the start of their academic careers to retirement.
- Foster students’ critical thinking and increase the proportion of graduates qualified for postgraduate studies.
- Integrate with other university departments by offering courses in interdisciplinary fields.
Admission Requirements
- The College of Humanities and Social Sciences Council determines the number of students admitted in accordance with the Kingdom’s comprehensive development plan.
- Applicants must have a minimum score of 85% in secondary school.
- Applicants must meet the general admission requirements of King Saud University as stipulated in the Undergraduate Study and Examination Regulations.
- No additional special requirements apply to admission to the Department of Arabic Language and Literature.
