  • Prof. Abdullah Al-Othaimeen received the Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Award for 1426–1427 AH in recognition of his contributions as a leading scholar of Arabian Peninsula history. 
  • Prof. Abdullah Al-Othaimeen received the Arab Bureau of Education Award for his book The Al-Rashid Emirate
  • Prof. Mohammed Al-Shaafi received the Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Award for 1427–1428 AH in recognition of his contributions as a leading scholar of Arabian Peninsula history. 
  • Prof. Mohammed Al-Shaafi received the Amin Madani Award for his book Jeddah’s Trade in the Nineteenth Century
  • Prof. Izz al-Din Musa, a Sudanese scholar who served as a faculty member in the department for more than 20 years, received the King Faisal Prize in Islamic Studies.  
  • Prof. Izz al-Din Musa received the Gold Medal for Science and Arts of the Republic of Sudan
  • Prof. Izz al-Din Musa was appointed by a Royal Hashemite Jordanian decree as a member of the Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought
  • Prof. Abdulaziz Al-Halabi received the Best Research Award in the Humanities in 1995 from the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences for his research, The Establishment of the Bayt al-Mal in the Islamic State
  • Prof. Owaidah bin Mutairik Al-Juhani received a certificate of appreciation from the King Abdulaziz Public Library for his scholarly contributions to the library’s activities commemorating the centenary of the founding of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1420 AH/1999. 
  • Prof. Owaidah bin Mutairik Al-Juhani received the Order of King Abdulaziz, First Class, in recognition of his scholarly contributions to the centenary celebrations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1420 AH/1999. 
  • Dr. Abdullah Al-Mutawa and Dr. Mohammed Al-Furaih received the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Award for Environmental Studies for their translation of In Unknown Arabia
  • Dr. Abdullah Al-Mutawa received the Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Award for his research The Society of Diriyah
  • Prof. Abdullah Al-Saif received the Order of King Abdulaziz in recognition of his contributions to the committee organizing the symposium commemorating the centenary of the founding of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Shawwal 1419 AH. 
  • Prof. Fahad Al-Otaibi received the Excellence Award from the Arab Archaeologists Union in Cairo in recognition of his outstanding scholarly contributions to the ancient history of the Arabian Peninsula in 2017. 
  • Lecturer Fatimah bint Hussein Al-Qahtani received the Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Award for Graduate Theses for her master’s thesis, Ibrahim Pasha’s Siege of Diriyah and Its Fall in 1233 AH, in 1428 AH. 
  • A distinguished group of graduate students received awards from the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) for their research. 
  • Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Humaidan received the Darah Award for Pioneers
  • Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed Ali Al-Arwi received the Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Award for Graduate Studies.  
  • Prof. Mohammed bin Faris Al-Jameel received the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Award for Excellence in Studies and Research on the History of the Arabian Peninsula, awarded to Saudi scholars, in 1438 AH.
