English for All Event

The Community Service Committee at the Department of English Language and Literature organized an event named English for All on Wednesday, 8 Jumada I 1440 corresponding to 13 February 2019.  The event was an open day for community service. The Department presented a panel discussion on bilingualism in which faculty members from the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Arts participated.

The English Club also displayed its various collections in the college lobby: The Drama Group, The Book Group, The MUSE magazine group and The English Speaking Center. The Center for Writing in English, the Creative Writing Group and the Student Council were also present at the event to review and explain everything to the visitors. A documentary film about the history of women was also screened. An exhibition was also devoted to displaying the most influential figures in the history of English language and literature.

This event has attracted a large number of students from the university, including students, employees, and faculty members from different colleges who expressed their admiration and benefit from this event. The Department of English Language and Literature intends to hold this event annually in order to achieve the vision of the department which focuses on the importance of community service and in line with Vision 2030, which emphasizes the responsibility of the citizen towards his country and society.
