Practical Training Requirements

General Requirements:
** The term "student" includes male and female students

  • The student trainee must complete all courses listed in the study plan, and not register for any additional courses during the training period.
  • Spend no less than (480) hours in the training entity according to the degree plan (i.e equivalent to a full semester load).
  • The number of training hours should not exceed (8) hours per day, except for what is agreed upon between the student and the training entity.
  • The practical training program is calculated as equivalent to 12 credit hours.
  • The training committee proposes training opportunities in several entities from which the student chooses what suits him or her. The student can also submit a request for training in a specific entity from which he or she obtained a training offer, and this requires the approval of the practical training committee.
  • The student must be committed to attending the training sessions on the agreed dates and times, and committing to all tasks entrusted to him or her by the training entity.
  • The student must be committed during the training period to good conduct and work rules, as he or she represents the university and the department in that entity.
  • The student must be committed to maintaining the confidentiality of the information provided to him or her by the training entity.
  • The student must submit reports to the academic supervisor via Blackboard, documenting the applied skills that he or she acquired from the practical training.

Changing the Training Entity:
The student is NOT permitted to change the training entity after signing a contract with it. If it becomes clear that the training program in a particular entity does not achieve the desired goals, the student must quickly discuss the matter with his academic supervisor and coordinate with the practical training unit to address the issue, or obtain approval to change the entity if a solution to the problem cannot be worked out. In the case of approval to change the training entity, the student must inform the entity about his or her intent of not continuing the training.

Attendance Policies:

  • The student must be committed to the days and times of attendance followed by the training entity, not the academic work hours and school vacations. Therefore, in case of irregularity or absence for any reason, the student must inform his academic supervisor, and the student bears all the consequences of the absence.
  • If the student's absence exceeds 120 hours with or without an excuse, the matter will be presented to the practical training unit, and the student will be assigned a grade of “deprived” accordingly and will retake the course in the following semester.

Program Withdrawal:
A student who is exposed to compelling circumstances may withdraw from the training course with academic supervisor and the practical training committee approval. In this case, the training entity will be notified and the contract will be terminated.
